Hi, Heather! Boy, is there such a thing as coincidence?! I was just clicking around the internet and I did a search on "cool mixed media art" and found you. The "coincidence" part is that I was just reading that you are doing a show in Port Townsend...and I got notification today that I will be teaching at Artfest in Port Townsend in April!! I live in Alabama so that's quite a stretch! Anyway, the art is gorgeous, I love your colors and the wonderful checkerboard fish. Keep up the great work!
Hi there Sunny!! I'm so sorry I've so very remiss in getting back with you. I got swamped and you know what happens thee...it's over. One gets lost and never gets back to certain tasks. My apologies!
I did finally get that show finished up and underway in Port Townsend. Whew. I can rest for another day or two or three (I'm stretching it, but waaah I want to go fishing and beachcombing)
But wow! You will be teaching at ArtFest, that is great! I've been wanting to participate for fun of it for so long but I just can't quite get around to getting there. Darn it. But it looks like such a fun time. I need that. A fun painting holiday with a bunch of like minded people who love the type of stuff I do. I might even learn something LOL.
Alabama, wow. That really is a stretch. You'll probably freeze when you get up here. Or love it for a while. Port Townsend is a really lovely little city but it's pretty cold in April (that is when artfest is isn't it?) I lose track of everything let alone dates. I'm awful. :-)
Let me know exactly and I'll see if we can't meet somewhere for coffee or maybe you'll have time to come into town from Ft. Warden (just a mile or two) and see the gallery. You'll just have to let me know for sure so I can be there because I actually live 2 hours away from Port Townsend, out on the far end of the Olympic Peninsula on the coast. We get more rain out here. Like alot more. Rainforest doncha know.
Anyway, thanks so much for dropping in, your work is really lovely!
Christine
Thanks for the reply! I came to Artfest last April for the first time. It was so cool. I made such great friends with girls from California, New York and B.C. we will be rooming together next April. I may have already been in the gallery last time when we wandered around town. We went in a lot of the shops and galleries. I loved the bead shop and the upstairs pizza place. I can't wait to come again! I hope to talk to you again soon!
Isn't Port Townsend a fun town? The history of the place is really fun and maybe the next time you come you can check out all the wonderful restoration of all the Victorian homes all over the place in town. Did you see the Castle or any of the other uptown features? I used to go there just to enjoy the Victorian homes but since I've been a part of the gallery I rarely go sight seeing or have any fun there anymore. Other than the gallery of course :-) I'm the VP and the webmaster for the gallery so my time is well used up.
One of these days though I would love to do the Artfest. I've been slobbering over going for about 4 years or so now...*sigh* If I sell a few more paintings I just might be able to swing it. I homeschool so I'd have to find somewhere to put my daughter (hubby takes a vacation while I go play? Yeah!) but I am finding ways to do this thing.
Wonderful you have been chosen to teach it, very best of luck to you and have a blast! I'll be there in April I'm sure so if you let me know I'll come in and take you and your friends around for a tour de force. :-)
